5607c89a11 HID: sony: Default initialize all elements of the LED max_brightness array to 1
Previously only the first element of the array was initialized to 1
leading to potential incorrect max brightness values for the LEDs
on the Dualshock 3 and buzzer controllers.

Use a designated initializer to initialize the whole array to the
correct value.

953dec21ae timekeeping: Fixup typo in update_vsyscall_old definition
In commit 4a0e637738 ("clocksource: Get rid of cycle_last"),
currently in the -tip tree, there was a small typo where cycles_t
was used intstead of cycle_t. This broke ppc64 builds.

Fix this by using the proper cycle_t type for this usage, in
both the definition and the ia64 implementation.

Now, having both cycle_t and cycles_t types seems like a very
bad idea just asking for these sorts of issues. But that
will be a cleanup for another day.

7440850c20 ALSA: hda - fix an external mic jack problem on a HP machine
ON the machine, two pin complex (0xb and 0xe) are both routed to
the same external right-side mic jack, this makes the jack can't work.

To fix this problem, set the 0xe to "not connected".

5a12a597a8 arm: Add devicetree fixup machine function
Commit 1c2f87c225
(ARM: 8025/1: Get rid of meminfo) dropped the upper bound on
the number of memory banks that can be added as there was no
technical need in the kernel. It turns out though, some bootloaders
(specifically the arndale-octa exynos boards) may pass invalid memory
information and rely on the kernel to not parse this data. This is a
bug in the bootloader but we still need to work around this.
Work around this by introducing a dt_fixup function. This function
gets called before the flattened devicetree is scanned for memory
and the like. In this fixup function for exynos, limit the maximum
number of memory regions in the devicetree.

4972a74b88 of: Split early_init_dt_scan into two parts
Currently, early_init_dt_scan validates the header, sets the
boot params, and scans for chosen/memory all in one function.
Split this up into two separate functions (validation/setting
boot params in one, scanning in another) to allow for
additional setup between boot params and scanning the memory.

b3fbfe0e7a nfsd: print status when nfsd4_open fails to open file it just created
It's possible for nfsd to fail opening a file that it has just created.
When that happens, we throw a WARN but it doesn't include any info about
the error code. Print the status code to give us a bit more info.

Our QA group hit some of these warnings under some very heavy stress
testing. My suspicion is that they hit the file-max limit, but it's hard
to know for sure. Go ahead and add a -ENFILE mapping to
nfserr_serverfault to make the error more distinct (and correct).

728dba3a39 namespaces: Use task_lock and not rcu to protect nsproxy
The synchronous syncrhonize_rcu in switch_task_namespaces makes setns
a sufficiently expensive system call that people have complained.

Upon inspect nsproxy no longer needs rcu protection for remote reads.
remote reads are rare.  So optimize for same process reads and write
by switching using rask_lock instead.

This yields a simpler to understand lock, and a faster setns system call.

In particular this fixes a performance regression observed
by Rafael David Tinoco <rafael.tinoco@canonical.com>.

This is effectively a revert of Pavel Emelyanov's commit
cf7b708c8d Make access to task's nsproxy lighter
from 2007.  The race this originialy fixed no longer exists as
do_notify_parent uses task_active_pid_ns(parent) instead of
parent->nsproxy.

983e244410 powerpc/mpic_msgr: Use kcalloc and correct the argument to sizeof
mpic_msgrs has type struct mpic_msgr **, not struct mpic_msgr *, so the
elements of the array should have pointer type, not structure type.
The advantage of kcalloc is, that will prevent integer overflows which
could result from the multiplication of number of elements and size and
it is also a bit nicer to read.

54afbec0d5 memory: Freescale CoreNet Coherency Fabric error reporting driver
The CoreNet Coherency Fabric is part of the memory subsystem on
some Freescale QorIQ chips.  It can report coherency violations (e.g.
due to misusing memory that is mapped noncoherent) as well as
transactions that do not hit any local access window, or which hit a
local access window with an invalid target ID.

48cd9b5d59 powerpc/e6500: Work around erratum A-008139
Erratum A-008139 can cause duplicate TLB entries if an indirect
entry is overwritten using tlbwe while the other thread is using it to
do a lookup.  Work around this by using tlbilx to invalidate prior
to overwriting.

To avoid the need to save another register to hold MAS1 during the
workaround code, TID clearing has been moved from tlb_miss_kernel_e6500
until after the SMT section.

e16c876553 powerpc/e6500: Add support for hardware threads
The general idea is that each core will release all of its
threads into the secondary thread startup code, which will
eventually wait in the secondary core holding area, for the
appropriate bit in the PACA to be set. The kick_cpu function
pointer will set that bit in the PACA, and thus "release"
the core/thread to boot. We also need to do a few things that
U-Boot normally does for CPUs (like enable branch prediction).

7251a24e4d powerpc/booke: Define MSR bits the same way as reg.h
This ensures that all MSR definitions are consistently unsigned long,
and that MSR_CM does not become 0xffffffff80000000 (this is usually
harmless because MSR is 32-bit on booke and is mainly noticeable when
debugging, but still I'd rather avoid it).

abeab450bf clk: Propagate any error return from debug_init()
If the .debug_init op is provided, it will be called by
clk_debug_create_one(). If debug_init() returns an error code,
clk_debug_create_one() will return -ENOMEM, regardless of the
value returned from debug_init(). Tweak the code to return
the actual value returned by debug_init() instead.

515afdcba0 ACPI / processor: Make it possible to get local x2apic id via _MAT
Logical processors with APIC ID values of 255 and greater are
required to have a Processor Device object and must convey the
processor's APIC information to OSPM using the Processor Local
X2APIC structure, but not until ACPI 5.1, X2APIC structure was
not supported in _MAT method.

_MAT is needed for CPU hotplug and system with more than 255
CPUs will definitely need X2APIC structure, so add its support
in map_mat_entry() to make it possible to get local x2apic id
via _MAT based on ACPI 5.1.

13f6de52b1 cpupower: bench: parse.c: Fix several minor errors
Resolved several minor errors in prepare_config() and made some additional improvements.
Earlier, the risk of file stream that was not closed. Misuse of strncpy, and the use of strncmp with strlen that makes it pointless.
I also check that sscanf has been successful, otherwise continue to the next line. And minimized the use of magic numbers.

This was found using a static code analysis program called cppcheck.

2add511e58 net: mvpp2: fix 10 Mbit/s usage
This commit is similar to commit 4d12bc63ab ("net: mvneta: fix
operation in 10 Mbit/s mode"), but this time for the mvpp2 driver. The
driver was properly taking into account the 1 Gbit/s and 100 Mbit/s
speeds, but not the 10 Mbit/s, which was handled as 100
Mbit/s. However, the MVPP2_GMAC_CONFIG_MII_SPEED bit in the
MVPP2_GMAC_AUTONEG_CONFIG register must remain cleared to allow 10
Mbit/s operation. This commit therefore fixes 10 Mbit/s operation.

The nasid_to_try variable is an array of integers, so plain integers can
be used when assigning values to the elements rather than casting a NULL
pointer to an integer, which results in the following warning from GCC:

882d6f384b [IA64] sn: Fix zeroing of PDAs
The code uses a the following to zero out a PDA:

	memset(pda, 0, sizeof(pda));

But sizeof(pda) will return the size of a pointer rather than the size
of the structure pointed to. This triggers the following warning from
GCC:

	arch/ia64/sn/kernel/setup.c:582:23: warning: argument to 'sizeof' in 'memset' call is the same pointer type 'struct pda_s *' as the destination; expected 'struct pda_s' or an explicit length [-Wsizeof-pointer-memaccess]
	  memset(pda, 0, sizeof(pda));
	                       ^

Fix this by passing in the size of the structure using sizeof(*pda)
instead.

d5cf09bace xfs: require 64-bit sector_t
Trying to support tiny disks only and saving a bit memory might have
made sense on an SGI O2 15 years ago, but is pretty pointless today.

Remove the rarely tested codepath that uses various smaller in-memory
types to reduce our test matrix and make the codebase a little bit
smaller and less complicated.

4984c23735 sfc: Use __iowrite64_copy instead of a slightly different local function
__iowrite64_copy() isn't quite the same as efx_memcpy_64(), but
it looks close enough:

- The length is in units of qwords not bytes
- It never byte-swaps, but that doesn't make a difference now as PIO
  is only enabled for x86_64
- It doesn't include any memory barriers, but that's OK as there is a
  barrier just before pushing the doorbell
- mlx4_en uses it for the same purpose

Compile-tested only.

b6328a07bd ACPI / PNP: Fix acpi_pnp_match()
The acpi_pnp_match() function is used for finding the ACPI device
object that should be associated with the given PNP device.
Unfortunately, the check used by that function is not strict enough
and may cause success to be returned for a wrong ACPI device object.

To fix that, use the observation that the pointer to the ACPI
device object in question is already stored in the data field
in struct pnp_dev, so acpi_pnp_match() can simply use that
field to do its job.

This problem was uncovered in 3.14 by commit 202317a573 (ACPI / scan:
Add acpi_device objects for all device nodes in the namespace).

c6f54a9b39 ARM: 8113/1: remove remaining definitions of PLAT_PHYS_OFFSET from <mach/memory.h>
The platforms selecting NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H defined the start address of
their physical memory in the respective <mach/memory.h>. With
ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT=y (which is quite common today) this is useless
though because the definition isn't used but determined dynamically.

So remove the definitions from all <mach/memory.h> and provide the
Kconfig symbol PHYS_OFFSET with the respective defaults in case
ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT isn't enabled.

This allows to drop the dependency of PHYS_OFFSET on !NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H
which prevents compiling an integrator nommu-kernel.
(CONFIG_PAGE_OFFSET which has "default PHYS_OFFSET if !MMU" expanded to
"0x" because CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET doesn't exist as INTEGRATOR selects
NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.)

0213436a2c scsi: do not issue SCSI RSOC command to Promise Vtrak E610f
Some devices don't like REPORT SUPPORTED OPERATION CODES and will
simply timeout causing sd_mod init to take a very very long time.
Introduce BLIST_NO_RSOC scsi scan flag, that stops RSOC from being
issued. Add it to Promise Vtrak E610f entry in scsi scan
blacklist. Fixes bug #79901 reported at
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79901
