Some reserved pages, such as those from NVDIMM DAX devices, are not for MMIO, and can be mapped with cached memory type for better performance. However, the above check misconceives those pages as MMIO. Because KVM maps MMIO pages with UC memory type, the performance of guest accesses to those pages would be harmed. Therefore, we check the host memory type in addition and only treat UC/UC-/WC pages as MMIO. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
