Nathan Chancellor 583bfd484b x86, lto: Enable Clang LTO for 32-bit as well Commit `b33fff07e3` ("x86, build: allow LTO to be selected") enabled support for LTO for x86_64 but 32-bit works fine as well. I tested the following config combinations: * i386_defconfig + CONFIG_LTO_CLANG_FULL=y * i386_defconfig + CONFIG_LTO_CLANG_THIN=y * ARCH=i386 allmodconfig + CONFIG_LTO_CLANG_THIN=y with LLVM 11.1.0, 12.0.0, and 13.0.0 from git without any build failures. The defconfigs boot in QEMU with no new warnings. Linux kernel
============

There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.

In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``.  The formatted documentation can also be read online at:

    https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/

There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.

Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
