Exynos boot is broken with commit 0529e315 (ARM: use common irqchip_init
for GIC init). This commit split the irqchip initialization into 2 calls
to of_irq_init. This does not work because of_irq_init requires interrupt
parents to be in the match list.
Rather than reverting exynos changes, make it do the proper thing by using
IRQCHIP_DECLARE. This requires moving the combiner code to drivers/irqchip.

The tracing of ia32 compat system calls has been a bit of a pain as they
use different system call numbers than the 64bit equivalents.
I wrote a simple 'lls' program that lists files. I compiled it as a i686
ELF binary and ran it under a x86_64 box. This is the result:

Obviously I'm not calling newfstat with a fd of 4d55b085. The calls are
obviously incorrect, and confusing.

But the real solution is to rewrite the syscall internals and come up
with a fixed solution. One that doesn't require all the kluge that the
current solution has.
Thus for now, instead of outputting incorrect data, simply ignore them.
With this patch the changes now have:

Compat system calls simply are not traced. If users need compat
syscalls, then they should just use the raw syscall tracepoints.
For an architecture to make their compat syscalls ignored, it must
define ARCH_TRACE_IGNORE_COMPAT_SYSCALLS (done in asm/ftrace.h) and also
define an arch_trace_is_compat_syscall() function that will return true
if the current task should ignore tracing the syscall.
I want to stress that this change does not affect actual syscalls in any
way, shape or form. It is only used within the tracing system and
doesn't interfere with the syscall logic at all. The changes are
consolidated nicely into trace_syscalls.c and asm/ftrace.h.
I had to make one small modification to asm/thread_info.h and that was
to remove the include of asm/ftrace.h. As asm/ftrace.h required the
current_thread_info() it was causing include hell. That include was
added back in 2008 when the function graph tracer was added:

It does not need to be included there.

The total number of low memory pages is determined as totalram_pages -
totalhigh_pages, so without this patch all CMA pageblocks placed in
highmem were accounted to low memory.

The designed workflow for the caches in kmemcg is: register it with
memcg_register_cache() if kmemcg is already available or later on when a
new kmemcg appears at memcg_update_cache_sizes() which will handle all
caches in the system. The caches created at boot time will be handled
by the later, and the memcg-caches as well as any system caches that are
registered later on by the former.
There is a bug, however, in memcg_register_cache: we correctly set up
the array size, but do not mark the cache as a root cache.
This means that allocations for any cache appearing late in the game
will see memcg->memcg_params->is_root_cache == false, and in particular,
trigger VM_BUG_ON(!cachep->memcg_params->is_root_cache) in
__memcg_kmem_cache_get.
The obvious fix is to include the missing assignment.

With commit 8e72033f2a ("thp: make MADV_HUGEPAGE check for
mm->def_flags") the VM_NOHUGEPAGE flag may be set on s390 in
mm->def_flags for certain processes, to prevent future thp mappings.
This would be overwritten by do_mlockall(), which sets it back to 0 with
an optional VM_LOCKED flag set.
To fix this, instead of overwriting mm->def_flags in do_mlockall(), only
the VM_LOCKED flag should be set or cleared.

Commit e7e034e18a ("drivers/rtc/rtc-pl031.c: fix the missing operation
on enable") accidentally broke the ST variants of PL031.
The bit that is being poked as "clockwatch" enable bit for the ST
variants does the work of bit 0 on this variant. Bit 0 is used for a
clock divider on the ST variants, and setting it to 1 will affect
timekeeping in a very bad way.

commit (32f5376 netfilter: nf_ct_helper: disable automatic helper
re-assignment of different type) broke transparent proxy scenarios.
For example, initial helper lookup might yield "ftp" (dport 21),
while re-lookup after REDIRECT yields "ftp-2121".
This causes the autoassign code to toss the ftp helper, even
though these are just different instances of the same helper.
Change the test to check for the helper function address instead
of the helper address, as suggested by Pablo.

Userspace can cause kernel panic by not specifying orig/reply
tuple: kernel will create a tuple with random stack values.
Problem is that tuple.dst.dir will be random, too, which
causes nf_ct_tuplehash_to_ctrack() to return garbage.

For optimal performance the inputs should be kept muted until after power
up. Since there are few use cases for muting inputs during capture move
the mutes to automatic control.

Until now, the MPC5200 FEC ethernet driver relied upon the bootloader
(U-Boot) to write the MAC address into the ethernet controller
registers. The Linux driver should not rely on such a thing. So
lets read the MAC address from the DT as it should be done here.
The following priority is now used to read the MAC address:
1) First, try OF node MAC address, if not present or invalid, then:
2) Read from MAC address registers, if invalid, then:
3) Log a warning message, and choose a random MAC address.
This fixes a problem with a MPC5200 board that uses the SPL U-Boot
version without FEC initialization before Linux booting for
boot speedup.
Additionally a status line is now be printed upon successful
driver probing, also displaying this MAC address.

The CPSW switch can act as Dual EMAC by segregating the switch ports
using VLAN and port VLAN as per the TRM description in
14.3.2.10.2 Dual Mac Mode
Following CPSW components will be common for both the interfaces.
* Interrupt source is common for both eth interfaces
* Interrupt pacing is common for both interfaces
* Hardware statistics is common for all the ports
* CPDMA is common for both eth interface
* CPTS is common for both the interface and it should not be enabled on
both the interface as timestamping information doesn't contain port
information.

* Reserved VID of One port should not be used in other interface which will
enable switching functionality
* Same VID must not be used in both the interface which will enable switching
functionality

Using /dev/pstore as a mount point for the pstore filesystem is slightly
awkward. We don't normally mount filesystems in /dev/ and the /dev/pstore
file isn't created automatically by anything. While this method will
still work, we can create a persistent mount point in sysfs. This will
put pstore on par with things like cgroups and efivarfs.

The original fix that was applied for setting gso_type required more change
than necessary because it was assumed ixgbe does RSC on IPv6 frames and this
is not correct. RSC is only supported with IPv4/TCP frames only. As such we
can simplify the fix and avoid the unnecessary move of eth_type_trans.
The previous patch "ixgbe: fix gso type" and this patch reduce the entire fix
to one line that sets gso_type to TCPV4 if the frame is RSC.

[Problem]
efi_pstore creates sysfs entries, which enable users to access to NVRAM,
in a write callback. If a kernel panic happens in an interrupt context,
it may fail because it could sleep due to dynamic memory allocations during
creating sysfs entries.
[Patch Description]
This patch removes sysfs operations from a write callback by introducing
a workqueue updating sysfs entries which is scheduled after the write
callback is called.
Also, the workqueue is kicked in a just oops case.
A system will go down in other cases such as panic, clean shutdown and emergency
restart. And we don't need to create sysfs entries because there is no chance for
users to access to them.
efi_pstore will be robust against a kernel panic in an interrupt context with this patch.

[Problem]
There is a scenario which efi_pstore fails to log messages in a panic case.
- CPUA holds an efi_var->lock in either efivarfs parts
or efi_pstore with interrupt enabled.
- CPUB panics and sends IPI to CPUA in smp_send_stop().
- CPUA stops with holding the lock.
- CPUB kicks efi_pstore_write() via kmsg_dump(KSMG_DUMP_PANIC)
but it returns without logging messages.
[Patch Description]
This patch disables an external interruption while holding efivars->lock
as follows.
In efi_pstore_write() and get_var_data(), spin_lock/spin_unlock is
replaced by spin_lock_irqsave/spin_unlock_irqrestore because they may
be called in an interrupt context.
In other functions, they are replaced by spin_lock_irq/spin_unlock_irq.
because they are all called from a process context.
By applying this patch, we can avoid the problem above with
a following senario.
- CPUA holds an efi_var->lock with interrupt disabled.
- CPUB panics and sends IPI to CPUA in smp_send_stop().
- CPUA receives the IPI after releasing the lock because it is
disabling interrupt while holding the lock.
- CPUB waits for one sec until CPUA releases the lock.
- CPUB kicks efi_pstore_write() via kmsg_dump(KSMG_DUMP_PANIC)
And it can hold the lock successfully.

Instead of using a bitfield, use an odd little trick using typeof,
__builtin_choose_expr, and sizeof. __builtin_choose_expr is
explicitly defined to not convert its type (its argument is required
to be a constant expression) so this should be well-defined.
The code is still not 100% preturbation-free versus the baseline
before 64-bit get_user(), but the differences seem to be very small,
mostly related to padding and to gcc deciding when to spill registers.

Commit 12ad100046: "clockevents: Add generic timer broadcast function"
made tick_device_uses_broadcast set up the generic broadcast function
for dummy devices (where !tick_device_is_functional(dev)), but neglected
to set up the broadcast function for devices that stop in low power
states (with the CLOCK_EVT_FEAT_C3STOP flag).
When these devices enter low power states they will not have the generic
broadcast function assigned, and will bring down the system when an
attempt is made to broadcast to them.
This patch ensures that the broadcast function is also assigned for
devices which require broadcast in low power states.

The hclk and pclk clocks are controlled by the same register. Hence a lock is
required to avoid corruption.

Although tegra_clk_register_super_mux() has a lock parameter, the lock is not
actually used by the code. Fixed with this patch.

The index of se should be 127. And the previous clock index was 125. So
we need to set up the index for se to get the correct index between se
to sata_cold.

Commit c1d1cd597f ("ARM: OMAP2+:
omap_device: remove obsolete pm_lats and early_device code") missed a
few omap_device_build() calls that aren't included as part of the default
OMAP2+ Kconfig, omap2plus_defconfig.
Ideally, all devices that are present on the SoC should be created by
default, and only the corresponding device driver should be configured
or deconfigured in Kconfig. This allows drivers to be built as
modules and loaded later, even if they weren't part of the original
kernel build. Unfortunately, we're not quite there yet.

randconfig tests.

There is a race that can hit during __cleanup() when the ioat->head pointer is
incremented during descriptor submission. The __cleanup() can clear the
PENDING flag when it does not see any active descriptors. This causes new
submitted descriptors to be ignored because the COMPLETION_PENDING flag is
cleared. This was introduced when code was adapted from ioatdma v1 to ioatdma
v2. For v2 and v3, IOAT_COMPLETION_PENDING flag will be abandoned and a new
flag IOAT_CHAN_ACTIVE will be utilized. This flag will also be protected under
the prep_lock when being modified in order to avoid the race.

Intel Lynxpoint PCH Low Power Subsystem has DMA controller to support general
purpose serial buses like SPI, I2C, and HSUART. This controller is enumerated
from ACPI namespace with ACPI ID INTL9C60.
