b4c2951a48 can: vxcan: improve handling of missing peer name attribute
Picking up the patch from Serhey Popovych (commit 191cdb3822,
"veth: Be more robust on network device creation when no attributes").

When the peer name attribute is not provided the former implementation tries
to register the given device name twice ... which leads to -EEXIST.
If only one device name is given apply an automatic generated and valid name
for the peer.

54e98b5d66 net: dsa: b53: Turn off Broadcom tags for more switches
Models such as BCM5395/97/98 and BCM53125/24/53115 and compatible require that
we turn on managed mode to actually act on Broadcom tags, otherwise they just
pass them through on ingress (host -> switch) and don't insert them in egress
(switch -> host). Turning on managed mode is simple, but requires us to
properly support ARL misses on multicast addresses which is a much more
involved set of changes not suitable for a bug fix for this release.

736a80bbfd mac80211: mesh: drop frames appearing to be from us
If there are multiple mesh stations with the same MAC address,
they will both get confused and start throwing warnings.

Obviously in this case nothing can actually work anyway, so just
drop frames that look like they're from ourselves early on.

3a3713ec36 mac80211: Fix setting TX power on monitor interfaces
Instead of calling ieee80211_recalc_txpower on monitor interfaces
directly, call it using the virtual monitor interface, if one exists.

In case of a single monitor interface given, reject setting TX power,
if no virtual monitor interface exists.

That being checked, don't warn in ieee80211_bss_info_change_notify,
after setting TX power on a monitor interface.

3ea15452ee nl80211: Check for the required netlink attribute presence
nl80211_nan_add_func() does not check if the required attribute
NL80211_NAN_FUNC_FOLLOW_UP_DEST is present when processing
NL80211_CMD_ADD_NAN_FUNCTION request. This request can be issued
by users with CAP_NET_ADMIN privilege and may result in NULL dereference
and a system crash. Add a check for the required attribute presence.

29f1b2b0fe posix-timers: Prevent UB from shifting negative signed value
Shifting a negative signed number is undefined behavior. Looking at the
macros MAKE_PROCESS_CPUCLOCK and FD_TO_CLOCKID, it seems that the
subexpression:

(~(clockid_t) (pid) << 3)

where clockid_t resolves to a signed int, which once negated, is
undefined behavior to shift the value of if the results thus far are
negative.

It was further suggested to make these macros into inline functions.

cca10d58d2 printk: add console_msg_format command line option
0day and kernelCI automatically parse kernel log - basically some sort
of grepping using the pre-defined text patterns - in order to detect
and report regressions/errors. There are several sources they get the
kernel logs from:

a) dmesg or /proc/ksmg

   This is the preferred way. Because `dmesg --raw' (see later Note)
   and /proc/kmsg output contains facility and log level, which greatly
   simplifies grepping for EMERG/ALERT/CRIT/ERR messages.

b) serial consoles

   This option is harder to maintain, because serial console messages
   don't contain facility and log level.

This patch introduces a `console_msg_format=' command line option,
to switch between different message formatting on serial consoles.
For the time being we have just two options - default and syslog.
The "default" option just keeps the existing format. While the
"syslog" option makes serial console messages to appear in syslog
format [syslog() syscall], matching the `dmesg -S --raw' and
`cat /proc/kmsg' output formats:

- facility and log level
- time stamp (depends on printk_time/PRINTK_TIME)
- message

	<%u>[time stamp] text\n

NOTE: while Kevin and Fengguang talk about "dmesg --raw", it's actually
"dmesg -S --raw" that always prints messages in syslog format [per
Petr Mladek]. Running "dmesg --raw" may produce output in non-syslog
format sometimes. console_msg_format=syslog enables syslog format,
thus in documentation we mention "dmesg -S --raw", not "dmesg --raw".

Per Kevin Hilman:

: Right now we can get this info from a "dmesg --raw" after bootup,
: but it would be really nice in certain automation frameworks to
: have a kernel command-line option to enable printing of loglevels
: in default boot log.

: This is especially useful when ingesting kernel logs into advanced
: search/analytics frameworks (I'm playing with and ELK stack: Elastic
: Search, Logstash, Kibana).

: The other important reason for having this on the command line is that
: for testing linux-next (and other bleeding edge developer branches),
: it's common that we never make it to userspace, so can't even run
: "dmesg --raw" (or equivalent.)  So we really want this on the primary
: boot (serial) console.

Per Fengguang Wu, 0day scripts should quickly benefit from that
feature, because they will be able to switch to a more reliable
parsing, based on messages' facility and log levels [1]:

3522f867c1 ACPI: EC: Fix debugfs_create_*() usage
acpi_ec.gpe is "unsigned long", hence treating it as "u32" would expose
the wrong half on big-endian 64-bit systems.  Fix this by changing its
type to "u32" and removing the cast, as all other code already uses u32
or sometimes even only u8.

30414f3010 drm/i915: Apply Display WA #1183 on skl, kbl, and cfl
Display WA #1183 was recently added to workaround
"Failures when enabling DPLL0 with eDP link rate 2.16
or 4.32 GHz and CD clock frequency 308.57 or 617.14 MHz
(CDCLK_CTL CD Frequency Select 10b or 11b) used in this
 enabling or in previous enabling."

This workaround was designed to minimize the impact only
to save the bad case with that link rates. But HW engineers
indicated that it should be safe to apply broadly, although
they were expecting the DPLL0 link rate to be unchanged on
runtime.

We need to cover 2 cases: when we are in fact enabling DPLL0
and when we are just changing the frequency with small
differences.

This is based on previous patch by Rodrigo Vivi with suggestions
from Ville Syrjälä.

ASoC: rt5645: change micbias widget type to supply.
Register "micbias1" and "micbias2" to supply widgets as modern drivers do.

This should not cause any (new) issues for existing users of the codec,
since micbias support is broken anyways. Micbias support needs the
RT5645_MICBIAS?_POW_CTRL_SEL bits in the RT5645_GEN_CTRL2 register to be
updated when enabled/disabled which we currently do not do.

The updating of these bits will be fixed in a follow-up commit.

d72d72cd33 mmc:host:sdhci-pci:Addition of Arasan PCI Controller with integrated phy.
The Arasan Controller is based on a FPGA platform and has integrated phy
with specific registers used during initialization and
management of different modes. The phy and the controller are integrated
and registers are very specific to Arasan.

Arasan being an IP provider, licenses these IPs to various companies for
integration of IP in custom SOCs. The custom SOCs define own register
map depending on how bits are tied inside the SOC for phy registers,
depending on SOC memory plan and hence will require own platform drivers.

2bd7b4aacd mmc: s3mci: mark debug_regs[] as static
The global array clashes with a newly added symbol of the same name:

drivers/staging/ccree/cc_debugfs.o:(.data+0x0): multiple definition of `debug_regs'
drivers/mmc/host/s3cmci.o:(.data+0x70): first defined here

We should fix both, this one addresses the s3cmci driver by removing
the symbol from the global namespace. While at it, this separates
the declaration from the type definition and makes the variable const.

088ead2552 media: uvcvideo: Add a metadata device node
Some UVC video cameras contain metadata in their payload headers. This
patch extracts that data, adding more clock synchronisation information,
on both bulk and isochronous endpoints and makes it available to the user
space on a separate video node, using the V4L2_CAP_META_CAPTURE capability
and the V4L2_BUF_TYPE_META_CAPTURE buffer queue type. By default, only the
V4L2_META_FMT_UVC pixel format is available from those nodes. However,
cameras can be added to the device ID table to additionally specify their
own metadata format, in which case that format will also become available
from the metadata node.

828ee8c719 media: uvcvideo: Use ktime_t for timestamps
uvc_video_get_ts() returns a 'struct timespec', but all its users
really want a nanoseconds variable anyway.

Changing the deprecated ktime_get_ts/ktime_get_real_ts to ktime_get
and ktime_get_real simplifies the code noticeably, while keeping
the resulting numbers unchanged.

b4fac96d9a tools: bpftool: remove new lines from errors
It's a little bit unusual for kernel style, but we add the new line
character to error strings inside the p_err() function.  We do this
because new lines at the end of error strings will break JSON output.

Fix a few p_err("..\n") which snuck in recently.

ebe2f87180 irqchip/gic-v3: Fix the driver probe() fail due to disabled GICC entry
The ACPI specification says OS shouldn't attempt to use GICC configuration
parameters if the flag ACPI_MADT_ENABLED is cleared. The ARM64-SMP code
skips the disabled GICC entries but not causing any issue. However the
current GICv3 driver probe bails out causing kernel panic() instead of
skipping the disabled GICC interfaces. This issue happens on systems
where redistributor regions are not in the always-on power domain and

This patch does the two things to fix the panic.
  - Don't return an error in gic_acpi_match_gicc() for disabled GICC entry.
  - No need to keep GICR region information for disabled GICC entry.

Observed kernel crash on QDF2400 platform GICC entry is disabled.

7f1a45a5b6 f2fs: clean up unneeded declaration
Commit 6afc662e68 ("f2fs: support flexible inline xattr size")
declared f2fs_sb_has_flexible_inline_xattr in f2fs.h for latter being
used in get_inline_xattr_addrs, but in latter version, related code
has been changed, leave f2fs_sb_has_flexible_inline_xattr w/o any
users. Let's remove it for cleanup.

d6d478a14b f2fs: continue to do direct IO if we only preallocate partial blocks
While doing direct IO, if we run out-of-space when we preallocate blocks,
we should not return ENOSPC error directly, instead, we should continue
to do following direct IO, which will keep directIO of f2fs acting like
other filesystems.

bef4e68830 scsi: aacraid: Fix driver oops with dead battery
The battery in my HP NetRAID-4M died of old age, and the aacraid driver
started oopsing with NULL pointer dereference on startup after that.

Fix it by reordering the init sequence to fill in function pointers
before ioremapping memory, or dev->a_ops.adapter_ioremap pointer will be
NULL.

Other subtypes of aacraid seem to have the order already correct.
