Remove x86 KVM's fast invalidate mechanism, i.e. revert all patches
from the original series[1].
Though not explicitly stated, for all intents and purposes the fast
invalidate mechanism was added to speed up the scenario where removing
a memslot, e.g. as part of accessing reading PCI ROM, caused KVM to
flush all shadow entries[1]. Now that the memslot case flushes only
shadow entries belonging to the memslot, i.e. doesn't use the fast
invalidate mechanism, the only remaining usage of the mechanism are
when the VM is being destroyed and when the MMIO generation rolls
over.
When a VM is being destroyed, either there are no active vcpus, i.e.
there's no lock contention, or the VM has ungracefully terminated, in
which case we want to reclaim its pages as quickly as possible, i.e.
not release the MMU lock if there are still CPUs executing in the VM.
The MMIO generation scenario is almost literally a one-in-a-million
occurrence, i.e. is not a performance sensitive scenario.
Given that lock-breaking is not desirable (VM teardown) or irrelevant
(MMIO generation overflow), remove the fast invalidate mechanism to
simplify the code (a small amount) and to discourage future code from
zapping all pages as using such a big hammer should be a last restort.
This reverts commit f6f8adeef5.

Add a 'trace(synthetic_event_name, params)' alternative to
synthetic_event_name(params).
Currently, the syntax used for generating synthetic events is to
invoke synthetic_event_name(params) i.e. use the synthetic event name
as a function call.
Users requested a new form that more explicitly shows that the
synthetic event is in effect being traced. In this version, a new
'trace()' keyword is used, and the synthetic event name is passed in
as the first argument.
In addition, for the sake of consistency with other actions, change
the documention to emphasize the trace() form over the function-call
form, which remains documented as equivalent.

Commit 06300b21f4 ("kbuild: support building individual files for
external modules") introduced the '/' target. It works only for
external modules to build all .o files, but skip the modpost stage.
However, 'make /' looks a bit weird to me. 'make ./' is more sensible
if you want to build all objects under the current directory, and it
works as expected.
Let's change '/' into a phony target that is an alias of './', but
I may feel like deprecating it in the future.

Add devicetree binding for HI3670 UFS controller. HI3760 SoC is very
similar to HI3660 SoC with almost same IPs. Only major difference in terms
of UFS is the PHY. HI3670 has 10nm PHY. But since the original driver
(HI3660 UFS) cannot make HI3670 UFS functional, a separate compatible
is added for HI3670 without any fallback.

Many users of drm_gem_object embed a struct reservation_object into
their subclassed struct, so let's add one to struct drm_gem_object.
This will allow removing the reservation object from the subclasses
and removing the ->gem_prime_res_obj callback.
With the addition, add a drm_gem_reservation_object_wait() helper
function for drivers to use in wait ioctls.

By default, ina3221, as a hardware monitor, continuously measures
the inputs and generates corresponding data. However, for battery
powered devices, this mode might be power consuming.
This patch adds a "ti,single-shot" property to allow changing the
default continuous mode to single-shot operating mode.

The extended-controls.rst file had become too big. Split it up: each
control class reference gets its own rst file, and this file just
describes the Extended Control API.
Each control class reference is also moved up one level into the
table of contents to make it easier to find e.g. the codec control
reference.
Finally I rearranged the order so that all camera-related control
classes are grouped together, ditto for codec/jpeg and fm-rx/tx.
The ext-ctrls-codec.rst is still pretty big and it is a candidate
to split up further in the future, possibly per codec.

These formats enable the trasmission of alpha channel data to other

example, buffers generated by drivers in one of these formats
can be used by the Weston compositor to display as a texture or
flipped directly onto the overlay planes with the help of a DRM
driver.
