eb82bace89 powercap/drivers/dtpm: Scale the power with the load
Currently the power consumption is based on the current OPP power
assuming the entire performance domain is fully loaded.

That gives very gross power estimation and we can do much better by
using the load to scale the power consumption.

Use the utilization to normalize and scale the power usage over the
max possible power.

Tested on a rock960 with 2 big CPUS, the power consumption estimation
conforms with the expected one.

Before this change:

d2cdc6adc3 powercap/drivers/dtpm: Use container_of instead of a private data field
The dtpm framework provides an API to allocate a dtpm node. However
when a backend dtpm driver needs to allocate a dtpm node it must
define its own structure and store the pointer of this structure in
the private field of the dtpm structure.

It is more elegant to use the container_of macro and add the dtpm
structure inside the dtpm backend specific structure. The code will be
able to deal properly with the dtpm structure as a generic entity,
making all this even more self-encapsulated.

The dtpm_alloc() function does no longer make sense as the dtpm
structure will be allocated when allocating the device specific dtpm
structure. The dtpm_init() is provided instead.

The dtpm table is an array of pointers, that forces the user of the
table to define initdata along with the declaration of the table
entry. It is more efficient to create an array of dtpm structure, so
the declaration of the table entry can be done by initializing the

4570ddda43 powercap/drivers/dtpm: Encapsulate even more the code
In order to increase the self-encapsulation of the dtpm generic code,
the following changes are adding a power update ops to the dtpm
ops. That allows the generic code to call directly the dtpm backend
function to update the power values.

The power update function does compute the power characteristics when
the function is invoked. In the case of the CPUs, the power
consumption depends on the number of online CPUs. The online CPUs mask
is not up to date at CPUHP_AP_ONLINE_DYN state in the tear down
callback. That is the reason why the online / offline are at separate
state. As there is already an existing state for DTPM, this one is
only moved to the DEAD state, so there is no addition of new state
with these changes. The dtpm node is not removed when the cpu is
unplugged.

That simplifies the code for the next changes and results in a more
self-encapsulated code.

639475d434 x86/CPU: Add support for Vortex CPUs
DM&P devices were not being properly identified, which resulted in
unneeded Spectre/Meltdown mitigations being applied.

The manufacturer states that these devices execute always in-order and
don't support either speculative execution or branch prediction, so
they are not vulnerable to this class of attack. [1]

This is something I've personally tested by a simple timing analysis
on my Vortex86MX CPU, and can confirm it is true.

Add identification for some devices that lack the CPUID product name
call, so they appear properly on /proc/cpuinfo.

e378f4967c net: enetc: make sure all traffic classes can send large frames
The enetc driver does not implement .ndo_change_mtu, instead it
configures the MAC register field PTC{Traffic Class}MSDUR[MAXSDU]
statically to a large value during probe time.

The driver used to configure only the max SDU for traffic class 0, and
that was fine while the driver could only use traffic class 0. But with
the introduction of mqprio, sending a large frame into any other TC than
0 is broken.

This patch fixes that by replicating per traffic class the static
configuration done in enetc_configure_port_mac().

In existing implementation, driver is freeing and un-mapping all the
decoded picture buffers(DPB) as part of dynamic resolution change(DRC)
handling. As a result, when firmware try to access the DPB buffer, from
previous sequence, SMMU context fault is seen due to the buffer being
already unmapped.

With this change, driver defines ownership of each DPB buffer. If a buffer
is owned by firmware, driver would skip from un-mapping the same.

(and encoding) could be recover it by closing the corresponding
file handle and open new one or reinitialize decoding (and encoding)

requirement we add a mechanism ins sys_error_handler and
corresponding decoder and encoder drivers to wait for sys_error_done
waitqueue in reqbuf.

like clang so it is not seen under normal builds).

Eliminate lp872x_dvs_state in favor of using gpiod_flags everywhere so
that there is no more warning about an implicit conversion.

Prepare for dynamically enabled states per task. The function needs to
retrieve the features and sizes which are valid in a fpstate
context. Retrieve them from fpstate.

Add state size and feature mask information to the fpstate container. This
will be used for runtime checks with the upcoming support for dynamically
enabled features and dynamically sized buffers. That avoids conditionals
all over the place as the required information is accessible for both

c5c6e589a8 net: stats: Read the statistics in ___gnet_stats_copy_basic() instead of adding.
Since the rework, the statistics code always adds up the byte and packet
value(s). On 32bit architectures a seqcount_t is used in
gnet_stats_basic_sync to ensure that the 64bit values are not modified
during the read since two 32bit loads are required. The usage of a
seqcount_t requires a lock to ensure that only one writer is active at a
time. This lock leads to disabled preemption during the update.

The lack of disabling preemption is now creating a warning as reported
by Naresh since the query done by gnet_stats_copy_basic() is in
preemptible context.

For ___gnet_stats_copy_basic() there is no need to disable preemption
since the update is performed on stack and can't be modified by another
writer. Instead of disabling preemption, to avoid the warning,
simply create a read function to just read the values and return as u64.

DSA core, since that sees fewer patches than drivers, and make the

The original cover letter is below:

The DSA core and drivers currently iterate too much through the port
list of a switch. For example, this snippet:

	for (port = 0; port < ds->num_ports; port++) {
		if (!dsa_is_cpu_port(ds, port))
			continue;

		ds->ops->change_tag_protocol(ds, port, tag_ops->proto);
	}

iterates through ds->num_ports once, and then calls dsa_is_cpu_port to
filter out the other types of ports. But that function has a hidden call
to dsa_to_port() in it, which contains:

	list_for_each_entry(dp, &dst->ports, list)
		if (dp->ds == ds && dp->index == p)
			return dp;

where the only thing we wanted to know in the first place was whether
dp->type == DSA_PORT_TYPE_CPU or not.

So it seems that the problem is that we are not iterating with the right
variable. We have an "int port" but in fact need a "struct dsa_port *dp".

This has started being an issue since this patch series:

The currently proposed set of changes iterates like this:

	dsa_switch_for_each_cpu_port(cpu_dp, ds)
		err = ds->ops->change_tag_protocol(ds, cpu_dp->index,
						   tag_ops->proto);

which iterates directly over ds->dst->ports, which is a list of struct
dsa_port *dp. This makes it much easier and more efficient to check
dp->type.

As a nice side effect, with the proposed driver API, driver writers are
now encouraged to use more efficient patterns, and not only due to less
iterations through the port list. For example, something like this:

	for (port = 0; port < ds->num_ports; port++)
		do_something();

probably does not need to do_something() for the ports that are disabled
in the device tree. But adding extra code for that would look like this:

	for (port = 0; port < ds->num_ports; port++) {
		if (!dsa_is_unused_port(ds, port))
			continue;

		do_something();
	}

and therefore, it is understandable that some driver writers may decide
to not bother. This patch series introduces a "dsa_switch_for_each_available_port"
macro which comes at no extra cost in terms of lines of code / number of
braces to the driver writer, but it has the "dsa_is_unused_port" check
embedded within it.
