12e364b9f0 staging: visorchipset driver to provide registration and other services
The visorchipset module receives device creation and destruction
events from the Command service partition of s-Par, as well as
controlling registration of shared device drivers with the s-Par
driver core. The events received are used to populate other s-Par
modules with their assigned shared devices. Visorchipset is required
for shared device drivers to function properly. Visorchipset also
stores information for handling dump disk device creation during
kdump.

In operation, the visorchipset module processes device creation and
destruction messages sent by s-Par's Command service partition through
a channel. These messages result in creation (or destruction) of each
virtual bus and virtual device. Each bus and device is also associated
with a communication channel, which is used to communicate with one or
more IO service partitions to perform device IO on behalf of the
guest.

* Replaced all the spin lock/unlock wrappers from oz_polling_lock_bh()
and oz_polllin_unlock_bh() with spin_lock_bh(&g_polling_lock) and

and declaration.
* declared g_polling_lock as global variable in header file and added comments to it.
Module builded successfully with sparse without warnings.

5ff8bebbd2 staging: octeon-ethernet: drop CONFIG_CAVIUM_OCTEON_NUM_PACKET_BUFFERS
We don't have such Kconfig option, so the current code is dead and
the documentation is wrong. Users can adjust this setting by using
module parameter or kernel command line, so we can delete this code.

values. Fix this function to work like the core expects.

The counters are actually 25-bit (24-bits + 1 sign bit). Instead of munging

For aesthetics, add some whitespace to the subdevice init.

This driver does not support async commands so remove the dev->read_subdev
initialization.

Remove the commented out SDF_COMMON from the subdevice subev_flags.

Add the subdevice range_table initialization.

For aesthetics, rename the (*insn_{read,write}) functions so they have
namespace associated with the driver.

Remove the unnecessary comments about the (*insn_{read,write}) functions.

084b6e7765 staging/cxt1e1/linux.c: Correct arbitrary memory write in c4_ioctl()
The function c4_ioctl() writes data from user in ifr->ifr_data
to the kernel struct data arg, without any iolen bounds checking.
This can lead to a arbitrary write outside of the struct data arg.
Corrected by adding bounds-checking of iolen before the copy_from_user().

78a10b8160 staging/usbip: add uapi header to export usbip kernel interfaces
usbip userspace has duplicated enum definition to report usbip device
status maintained by the kernel. Adding an usbip uapi header file will
define the kernel - userspace interface for this device status. This
new uapi file is added under usbip/uapi to keep the staging tree code
self-contained. When usbip moves to mainline drivers, this file should
be moved under uapi/linux

0ac09f9f8c x86, trace: Fix CR2 corruption when tracing page faults
The trace_do_page_fault function trigger tracepoint
and then handles the actual page fault.

This could lead to error if the tracepoint caused page
fault. The original cr2 value gets lost and the original
page fault handler kills current process with SIGSEGV.

This happens if you record page faults with callchain
data, the user part of it will cause tracepoint handler
to page fault:

  # perf record -g -e exceptions:page_fault_user ls

Fixing this by saving the original cr2 value
and using it after tracepoint handler is done.

v2: Moving the cr2 read before exception_enter, because
    it could trigger tracepoint as well.

A patch to linux/irqflags.h uncovered a problem with c6x asm/cache.h
which causes a build failure:

 extern void __init c6x_cache_init(void);

The asm/cache.h was relying on linux/irqflags.h to pull in linux/init.h
but the recent patch changed that. The c6x header should have included
linux/init.h all along.

Since the statistics handler is asynchrous, it can very well
be that we will handle the statistics (hence the RSSI
fluctuation) when we already disassociated.

cdc2b41584 dm thin: synchronize the pool mode during suspend
Commit b5330655 ("dm thin: handle metadata failures more consistently")
increased potential for the pool's mode to be changed in response to
metadata operation failures.

When the pool mode is changed it isn't synchronized with the mode in
pool_features stored in the target's context (ti->private) that is used
as the basis for (re)establishing the pool mode during resume via
bind_control_target.

It is important that we synchronize the pool mode when it is changed
otherwise the pool may experience and unexpected mode transition on the
next resume (especially if there was no new table load).

27329369c9 mm: page_alloc: exempt GFP_THISNODE allocations from zone fairness
Jan Stancek reports manual page migration encountering allocation
failures after some pages when there is still plenty of memory free, and
bisected the problem down to commit 81c0a2bb51 ("mm: page_alloc: fair
zone allocator policy").

The problem is that GFP_THISNODE obeys the zone fairness allocation
batches on one hand, but doesn't reset them and wake kswapd on the other
hand.  After a few of those allocations, the batches are exhausted and
the allocations fail.

Fixing this means either having GFP_THISNODE wake up kswapd, or
GFP_THISNODE not participating in zone fairness at all.  The latter
seems safer as an acute bugfix, we can clean up later.

1ae71d0319 mm: numa: bugfix for LAST_CPUPID_NOT_IN_PAGE_FLAGS
When doing some numa tests on powerpc, I triggered an oops bug.  I find
it is caused by using page->_last_cpupid.  It should be initialized as
"-1 & LAST_CPUPID_MASK", but not "-1".  Otherwise, in task_numa_fault(),
we will miss the checking (last_cpupid == (-1 & LAST_CPUPID_MASK)).  And
finally cause an oops bug in task_numa_group(), since the online cpu is
less than possible cpu.  This happen with CONFIG_SPARSE_VMEMMAP disabled

This patch is a modification of the patch originally proposed by

This new version disables DMA channel interrupts and ensures that the
tasklet wil not be scheduled again before calling tasklet_kill().

Unfortunately the updated patch was not released at that time due to
planned rework of Tsi721 mport driver to use threaded interrupts (which
has yet to happen).  Recently the issue was reported again:

Description from the original Xiaotian's patch:

 "Some drivers use tasklet_disable in device remove/release process,
  tasklet_disable will inc tasklet->count and return.  If the tasklet is
  not handled yet under some softirq pressure, the tasklet will be
  placed on the tasklet_vec, never have a chance to be excuted.  This
  might lead to a heavy loaded ksoftirqd, wakeup with pending_softirq,
  but tasklet is disabled.  tasklet_kill should be used in this case."

This patch is applicable to kernel versions starting from v3.5.

Current implementation of HFS+ driver has small issue with remount
option.  Namely, for example, you are unable to remount from RO mode
into RW mode by means of command "mount -o remount,rw /dev/loop0
/mnt/hfsplus".  Trying to execute sequence of commands results in an
error message:

  mount /dev/loop0 /mnt/hfsplus
  mount -o remount,ro /dev/loop0 /mnt/hfsplus
  mount -o remount,rw /dev/loop0 /mnt/hfsplus

  mount: you must specify the filesystem type

  mount -t hfsplus -o remount,rw /dev/loop0 /mnt/hfsplus

  mount: /mnt/hfsplus not mounted or bad option

The reason of such issue is failure of mount syscall:

  mount("/dev/loop0", "/mnt/hfsplus", 0x2282a60, MS_MGC_VAL|MS_REMOUNT, NULL) = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)

Namely, hfsplus_parse_options_remount() method receives empty "input"
argument and return false in such case.  As a result, hfsplus_remount()
returns -EINVAL error code.

This patch fixes the issue by means of return true for the case of empty
"input" argument in hfsplus_parse_options_remount() method.
