4391b2cf4b Merge tag 'drm-intel-next-2012-06-21-merged' of git://people.freedesktop.org/~danvet/drm-intel into drm-core-next
Daniel writes:
 New -next pull request. Highlights:
 - Remaining vlv patches from Jesse et al.
 - Some hw workarounds from Jesse
 - hw context support from Ben
 - full uncore sharing on ivb
 - prep work to move the gtt code from intel-gtt.c to drm/i915 for gen6+
 - some backlight code improvements
 - leftovers for the timeout ioctl (we've forgotten the getparam)
 - ibx transcoder workarounds
 - some smaller fixlets and improvements
 - the new version of the "dont rely on HPD exclusively for VGA" patch

Wrt regressions QA reported quite a few this time around.
 - The piglit/kernel-test fallout all has patches that are just awaiting
review and merging into the next -next cycle.
 - Which just leaves a bunch of bugs about new modelines that don't work.
It looks like these are all due to the new 16:9/16:10 modes in 3.5
(yeah, only in this manual testing cycle did the git branch used by QA
contain a backmerge of mainline with these patches). Although I haven't
yet confirmed this by letting our QA test the revert of that series.
 - Wrt bugs in general I'm trying to fight down some of our long-standing
backlight issues (not regressions), but this seems to be a game of
"you move, you lose" ... :("

Dropped merge bits since this had an -rc4 merge in it to fix some ugly
conflicts.

35ebf65e85 ipv4: Create and use fib_compute_spec_dst() helper.
The specific destination is the host we direct unicast replies to.
Usually this is the original packet source address, but if we are
responding to a multicast or broadcast packet we have to use something
different.

Specifically we must use the source address we would use if we were to
send a packet to the unicast source of the original packet.

The routing cache precomputes this value, but we want to remove that
precomputation because it creates a hard dependency on the expensive
rpfilter source address validation which we'd like to make cheaper.

There are only three places where this matters:

1) ICMP replies.

2) pktinfo CMSG

3) IP options

Now there will be no real users of rt->rt_spec_dst and we can simply
remove it altogether.

c9b22fb87a mac80211: don't require associated->beacon_ies for ps
beacon_ies is needed only in order to extract the dtim
period. However, even if it's missing we can still enter
ps with dtim=1 (which also happens if the TIM ie is invalid).

Most drivers don't use conf.max_sleep_period/ps_dtim_period
anyway, and this check prevents them from entering ps if
they don't have beacon (but only probe response), even though
the beacon is not needed at all.

f5ef2f7bf2 scripts/config: allow alternate prefix to config option symbol
While the Linux kernel uses 'CONFIG_' as a prefix to the config options
symbols, many projects that use kconfig may use different prefixes, or
even none at all.

If the CONFIG_ environment variable is set, use it as the prefix (empty
is a valid prefix). Otherwise, use the default prefix 'CONFIG_'.

This matches the support for alternate prefixes in scripts/kconfig/lkc.h,
which uses the same logic (albeit with a C define instead of an environment
variable).

4edc7e32af scripts/config: add option to not upper-case symbols
Currently, scripts/config mangles the config option symbols to always
be upper-case.

While the Linux kernel almost exclusively uses upper-case symbols, there
are still a few symbols with lower-case which this script can not handle:

  $ grep -r -E '^[[:space:]]*config[[:space:]]+[^[:space:]]*[[:lower:]][^[:space:]=.]*$' . |wc -l
  173
(that's roughly 1.3% of the symbols in 3.5-rc1)

Eg.:
  ./arch/arm/Kconfig:config VFPv3
  ./arch/powerpc/platforms/Kconfig.cputype:config 40x
  ./arch/x86/Kconfig:config SCx200HR_TIMER
  ./drivers/video/console/Kconfig:config FONT_8x8
  ./drivers/video/Kconfig:config NTSC_640x480

Also, other projects that use kconfig may allow for lower- or mixed-case
symbols, and may find easier to reuse this script than implement each
their own (potentially flawed) logic. For such a use-case, see:
    http://marc.info/?l=linux-kbuild&m=133409932115848&w=2

This patch adds a new option to keep the given case, and keep the current
default to upper-case the symbols.
