dma_declare_coherent_memory() needs both the CPU physical address and the
bus address of the device memory. They are the same on this platform, but
in general we should use pcibios_resource_to_bus() to account for any
address translation done by the PCI host bridge.
This makes no difference on Dreamcast, but is safer if the usage is copied
to future drivers.

dma_declare_coherent_memory() takes two addresses for a region of memory: a
"bus_addr" and a "device_addr". I think the intent is that "bus_addr" is
the physical address a *CPU* would use to access the region, and
"device_addr" is the bus address the *device* would use to address the
region.
Rename "bus_addr" to "phys_addr" and change its type to phys_addr_t.
Most callers already supply a phys_addr_t for this argument. The others
supply a 32-bit integer (a constant, unsigned int, or __u32) and need no
change.
Use "unsigned long", not phys_addr_t, to hold PFNs.
No functional change (this could theoretically fix a truncation in a config
with 32-bit dma_addr_t and 64-bit phys_addr_t, but I don't think there are
any such cases involving this code).

The DMA-API documentation sometimes refers to "physical addresses" when it
really means "bus addresses." Sometimes these are identical, but they may
be different if the bridge leading to the bus performs address translation.
Update the documentation to use "bus address" when appropriate.
Also, consistently capitalize "DMA", use parens with function names, use
dev_printk() in examples, and reword a few sections for clarity.
No functional change; documentation changes only.

current PIO tranfer method be described as follows:
1. fill as much as bytes but no more than 256 bytes(fifo size)
2. enable oflow/uflow/txfifo_empty interrupt
3. isr process 3 interrupt signal, do complete works.
4. after isr done, if there are left bytes go into 1 else go into 5
5. transfer end
by current PIO transfer method:
1. reduce interrupt counts in spi interrupt line.
2. reduce interrupt latency because no do data fill/fetch in isr.

As we are moving the mmp platform towards multiplatform support,
we have to stop including platform header files.
This changes the pxa-ssp sound driver file to no longer depend
on mach/hardware.h and mach/dma.h. The code using the definitions
from those headers is actually gone already, the only thing
that was still being used was the pxa_dma_desc typedef, which
we can easily work around by using the normal 'struct pxa_dma_desc'
name.
The pxa2xx-dma driver still uses this header, so we include it
explicitly there, which is ok because that is only used on pxa,
not on mmp.

Let the ALC5623 codec be instantiated from DT. Add a simple binding
for the additional control register and the jack detect register.
Also, add a prompt to the Kconfig entry for this CODEC, so that it can
be selected. Since kirkwood-t5325.c will no longer be used, we need to
be able to enable the CODEC in the mvebu_v5_defconfig etc.

When the fsl-ssi unit is used in i2s slave mode, it is possible that the
SSI unit starts transmitting data on the wrong channel. This happens
because the SSI does not synchronize with the left-right-clock by
default.
This patch enables transmit enable synchronization.

There are some variables defined in struct fsl_ssi_private that describe
states that are also described by other variables.
This patch adds some helper functions that return exactly the same
information based on available variables. This helps to clean up struct
fsl_ssi_private and remove them from the probe function.
It also removes some not really used variables (new_binding, name).

Simplify dma DT property handling. fsl,ssi-dma-events is not used
anymore. It passes invalid data to imx_pcm_dma_params_init_data() which
copies some data into an imx dma struct. This struct is never used in
imx-dma or imx-sdma because of generic OF DMA handling. The
"fsl,ssi-dma-events" is not used anywhere in dts files.

The bits we have to clear when disabling are different when the other
stream is still active.
This patch fixes the calculation of new register values after disabling
one stream. It also adds a more detailed description of the new register
value calculation.

Using a proper do-while loop here instead of a open-coded goto loop is both
cleaner and shorter.

blk_queue_make_requests() overwrites our set value for q->nr_requests,

INTx masking does not work on this device. To see this, configure the
network device UP on an active network, note that the interrupt count
continues to increment for the device in /proc/interrupts. Use setpci to
set the PCI_COMMAND_INTX_DISABLE bit in the PCI_COMMAND register. As
expected, the interrupt count ceases to increment. However, reading the
PCI_STATUS_INTERRUPT bit of the PCI_STATUS register does not indicate that
interrupts are pending and clearing PCI_COMMAND_INTX_DISABLE in the
PCI_COMMAND register does not allow the device to continue operation.
This does not affect operation of the host r8169 driver, but it does
prevent the device from being functional when assigned to a VM, such as
with QEMU and VFIO. The guest driver successfully probes the device, but
there is no traffic. Mark INTx masking as broken, allowing the more
restrictive APIC masking to be used instead.

This adds FDT parsing of {linux,}stdout-path to setup an early serial
console. Enabling of the early console is triggered with "earlycon"
(with no options) on the kernel command line.
Platforms must either have fixmap permanent mapping support,
have a functioning ioremap when early params are parsed, or explicitly
call early_init_dt_scan_chosen_serial from architecture code.

Copy u-boot's FDT address translation code from common/fdt_support. This
code was originally based on the kernel's unflattened DT address parsing
code.
This commit can be reverted once relicensing of this code to GPLv2/BSD
is done and it is added to libfdt.

Some saitek mice implement a tristate button (for switching button mappings in
the original driver) by keeping one of three (non-physical)
buttons constantly pressed.
This breaks X and probably other userspace software.
This patch implements a quirk for the R.A.T.7 and M.M.O.7, tracking the mode
and generating presses of a single button if it changes. Also the missing
release event is generated instantly.

We now have several OF match tables using linker sections that are
nearly the same definition. The only variation is the callback function
prototype. Create a common define for creating linker section OF match
table entries which each table declaration can use.

Use for_each_matching_node_and_match instead of for_each_matching_node plus
of_match_node to avoid searching the DT twice for each node.
The sunxi DT scanning code should really be re-worked rather than have
its own private matching infrastructure. It is working around needing a
function pointer and a data pointer for each compatible match.

All the parameters for RESERVEDMEM_OF_DECLARE function callbacks are
members of struct reserved_mem, so just pass the struct ptr to callback
functions so the function callback is more in line with other OF match
table callbacks.

Commit 85ad643b ("dm thin: add timeout to stop out-of-data-space mode
holding IO forever") introduced a fixed 60 second timeout. Users may
want to either disable or modify this timeout.
Allow the out-of-data-space timeout to be configured using the
'no_space_timeout' dm-thin-pool module param. Setting it to 0 will
disable the timeout, resulting in IO being queued until more data space
is added to the thin-pool.

For request_fn based devices, the block layer exports a 'nr_requests'
file through sysfs to allow adjusting of queue depth on the fly.
Currently this returns -EINVAL for blk-mq, since it's not wired up.
Wire this up for blk-mq, so that it now also always dynamic
adjustments of the allowed queue depth for any given block device
managed by blk-mq.

For inline data extent, we need to make its length aligned, otherwise,
we can get a phantom extent map which confuses readpages() to return -EIO.
This can be detected by xfstests/btrfs/035.

Some drivers use the first HID report in the list instead of using an
index. In these cases, validation uses ID 0, which was supposed to mean
"first known report". This fixes the problem, which was causing at least
the lgff family of devices to stop working since hid_validate_values
was being called with ID 0, but the devices used single numbered IDs
for their reports:
